This evening as I reflect on my day I have a grateful heart. I’m honored to be a part of a team whose leader challenges all students to #dohardthings
At 6:23 this morning I received a group text from Ed Wu saying, “As we are running today, let’s meditate on this verse, “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 3:14
I was sleepy, cold and my knees were hurting before I even stepped up to the start line for the 3M Half Marathon in downtown Austin. But, ok, I would “press on”.
And, our entire Premier Education team pressed on this morning and finished the 13.1 miles in the 32 degree weather! Our Premier Education team of students and staff have been training for this for a long time, and all that training, pressing on and doing hard things paid off as we ran over the finish line today.
What an accomplishment!
This evening as I reflect on my day I have a grateful heart. I’m honored to be a part of a team whose leader challenges all students to #dohardthings. The timeliness of this message and reminder comes on the eve of a very important day that our nation stops to observe tomorrow.
Martin Luther King – A man who did hard things
Why does Ed Wu want his students to press on and dohardthings ? Why did Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. press on and do hard things?
Because they both know that when we run toward the goal it’s going to be hard, but it’s worth it!
And the goal?…
The prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus!
Congratulations runners on a job well done today. I look forward to doing a lot more hard things with you in the future!
