Have you been trying to think of a gift to give to your host student? If so, we have some suggestions for you.

  • Keep it small.

As you think about a gift to give your student, please don’t feel like you need to do anything big or extravagant. It is the thought that counts when you give your student a gift.

You’ll also want to keep the gift small in size. Remember, at some point, your student will need to pack a suitcase and head home, and whatever you get needs not to take up too much space.

  • Keep it sentimental.

Why not consider giving something that will help them remember the special memories they are making? A framed picture of your student and your family together would be unique. A flag to hang on a wall of a favorite college, school, state, or sports team would be a great gift.

  • Keep Chinese culture in mind.

Giving and receiving of gifts in the United States looks pretty different than exchanging gifts in China. Last year we wrote a blog that will be helpful as you consider how to give and receive gifts from your student this evening. You can read about Gift Giving From The East To The West for useful tips.

Our team at Premier Education would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas. We’re thankful for the gifts you give every day as you host our students in your home.
