The Cornonavirus has rocked the country of China in more ways than we can imagine. As of February 27, 2020 there have been 83,379 total cases of it reported by the Worldometer, and 2,858 of those cases resulted in death. You can track these and other similar statistics related to the coronavirus on the worldometer website.
Our Chinese Premier Education students who are studying here in the United States are mostly free from the risk of contracting the disease. The United States only has 60 reported cases and the likelihood of one of our students contracting it is pretty slim. Although our students probably won’t contract it, its effects are reaching into them and we need to keep them in our prayers.
3 Ways to Pray for Our Students Who Have Families in China
Fearfulness- While our students are relatively safe in the United States, their families are highly susceptible to the virus. This can cause a great deal of fear in their hearts. Pray that our students will put their trust in God when they are afraid (Psalm 56:3).
Helplessness- Some of our students are feeling despair that they cannot be there to help their families through this crisis. Pray that our students will embrace God’s presence that is with them, “He is my helper.” (Psalm 118:6-7)
Hopefulness- Pray that our students will place their hope and trust in Jesus during this trying time.
